Patchwork is a web app for frontline workers to help them connect around clients, revealing hidden networks and facilitating communication across agencies. Patchwork was developed to stop vulnerable people with many people and agencies working with them falling through the gaps in the system and to better coordinate support.
I have been the Service Designer on Patchwork for about 18 months working to understand how Patchwork can help frontline workers, where the product can be changed or enhanced to suit their needs and developing new features. I have worked very closely with the development team at FutureGov working on the User Experience and interface of the product. I have also been heavily involved in the implementation of Patchwork through a number of councils in the UK and Australia and on evaluation and user feedback.
